Timeless Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned is a cornerstone of cocktail history, and mastering it is a mark of true appreciation for spirits. This classic is simple yet profound, allowing the nuanced flavors of bourbon to shine through. Perfect for beginners, our recipe guides you through each step to create a perfectly balanced drink that honors tradition.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Pizzoferrato Oak Aged Bourbon or any other favorite
  • 3/4 oz Demerara simple syrup
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura Aromatic bitters
  • 2-3 dashes of Orange bitters
  • Orange (or Blood Orange) peel for garnish
  • 1 Luxardo Cherry
  • Large ice cube
  • optional- Use a Cocktail Smoker with your favorite wood chips for a smokier full-bodied experience

Instructions:

  1. Add your bourbon to a Rocks Glass
  2. Next, add your simple syrup and bitters
  3. Stir
  4. Add a large ice cube.
  5. Garnish with your Cherry and Orange Peel. (If using fresh orange peel, feel free to express the oils at this point over top your drink)
  6. Salute!

The sophisticated Manhattan

A Manhattan is a sophisticated and elegant cocktail, known for its bold flavors and smooth finish. This rye or bourbon-based drink, with its hint of sweetness from vermouth, is a testament to classic mixology. Our recipe is designed for everyone, ensuring a delightful experience whether you're new to cocktails or a seasoned enthusiast.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Pizzoferrato Oak Aged Bourbon or any other favorite
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth (preferably Carpano Antica Formula 1786)
  • 2 dashes Angostura Aromatic bitters
  • Luxardo Cherry for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Combine Bourbon, sweet vermouth, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir well until thoroughly chilled, about 30 seconds.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
  4. Garnish with a cherry.
  5. Salute!

 

Demerara Sugar as a Simple Syrup

Demerara sugar, with its rich caramel flavor and light golden color, makes an excellent base for simple syrup, enhancing cocktails, desserts, and beverages alike.  Using Demerara sugar not only elevates your drinks and dishes but also introduces a touch of natural sweetness that’s less processed than white sugar. It is a staple ingredient for high quality bourbon cocktails. This recipe will produce 6-7 ounces. 

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 Cup Demerara Sugar
  • 2/3 Cup Filtered Water

Instructions:

  1. Bring water to a boil on the stove.
  2. Add in the Demerara Sugar and stir continuously until fully dissolved. 
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. Store in glass bottle in fridge for 30 days.
